Artist Profile of Gordon Wyllie
Gordon began wood burning in 2006 after losing his ability to Multiple Sclerosis. His burning has turned into a passion that has him spending hours in his workshop known as the “Knotty Workshop”. His subject matter ranges from Canadian landscapes, to old automobiles, and farm machinery. His work has been featured on on CTV television and his works hangs in collections across Canada and the United States.
Most of his art is done on 1/8″ Baltic Birch Plywood or Basswood Slabs. He uses a Razor-tip Burning System using pointillism to create the finished piece. Drawing and burning a picture can take as long as forty to sixty hours based on detail. Commissioned work is welcome.
